On Saturday evening, January 6th, Tulsa Firefighter John Imhoff, 51, suffered a cardiac arrest while battling a house fire. John was immediately rescued by his fellow Tulsa firefighters and paramedics. Due to their quick and professional actions, he was successfully resuscitated at the scene and taken to St. Francis Hospital where he remains in guarded but stable condition. John is a beloved 26-year veteran of the Tulsa Fire Department and Vice-President of Tulsa Firefighters Local 176. He is married to Pam, a college Professor, and has two children, Joshua, a high school student, and Jennifer, an Emergency Room Registered Nurse.
Since being in the hospital, his family and brothers and sisters of the Tulsa Fire Department have shown support by holding a vigil at the hospital around the clock. The length of time for John's hospitalization is unknown, but he is progressing in his recovery.
The Imhoff family would like to express their sincere appreciation to fellow instructors, firefighters, co-workers and friends for their continued support and prayers for John's recovery. A fund has been set up at the Tulsa Firefighters Credit Union, 9200 East 41st Street; just west of 41st & Mingo, to assist the family with the immeasurable expenses they will incur during John's extended recovery and rehabilitation.
