John Filbeck
As a child, when John Filbeck listened to the announcers on the radio, he had one thought - "That's what I want to do."

Filbeck grew up in Sapulpa, attended Sapulpa Public Schools and was an active member of the schools band program.

After high school, he went to the University of Oklahoma, majored in journalism, and was a member of the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band. While in college, he got his first broadcast gig, as a storm chaser for civil defense and a few area stations. After school, Filbeck returned to Tulsa to work in radio.

Reporting on traffic troubles in Tulsa is always a full-time job, one that Filbeck enjoys. But he also keeps in touch with his first radio thrill, reporting on severe weather in Oklahoma. Whenever severe weather arrives, you'll find Filbeck in the heart of the storm.

He and his wife, Cindy, are members of Riverview Baptist Church in Bixby. They are active in the church music programs and are youth sponsors. God is (and always has been) the head of the Filbeck Household. It's more important than ever that we, as Christians, not be ashamed to speak about our faith. Share with others how we keep God's plan first and foremost in everything we do. If WE don't share the good word with those who are lost, who will? Filbeck enjoys speaking to groups, both about radio and his faith, whenever he can.

In their spare time, Filbeck and his wife, enjoy playing their instruments in their church and other area bands. They are active supporters of area high school bands and The Pride of Oklahoma. Filbeck enjoys working in his yard and gardens at home and running out into the storms whenever they arrive.

You can catch John Filbeck's Real Time Traffic reports during your drive to work with Josh & Rebecca.
