I grew up in a military family with seven brothers and sisters. From the time I was twelve or thirteen I have always loved listening to the radio. I like radio better than television because I can do other things at the same time I'm listening to the radio.I started volunteering at a Christian radio station in Mobile, Alabama while I was still in high school. After graduation I moved to Siloam Springs, Arkansas where I got my bachelors degree in broadcasting at John Brown University. I also met my wife, Kassandra, at JBU. We were partners on the debate team and won a national debate championship together. Since we are both former debaters, we know better than to start arguments with each other now that we're married!
After college I worked at a Christian radio station in Northwest Arkansas for several years. Kassandra studied law at the University of Arkansas. We moved to Tulsa in 2007 and we absolutely love it here!
Favorite Spirit Artists: Casting Crowns, Caedmon's Call, and Nichole Nordeman
Family: My wife Kassandra is an attorney. She has the brains in our family. And the looks. And she's a much better cook than I am. So what do I bring to the relationship? Well, I can reach things on the top shelf!
Favorite Foods: Cheese. I like almost anything if it has enough cheese on it.
Best Things to do in Tulsa: I love fish, so I really enjoy the Oklahoma Aquarium. I also like going to the one dollar movies – 'cause I'm a cheapskate!
3 Things to take on a Stranded Island: If I had to be stranded on an island I would like to take along a hotel, a restaurant, and a cruise ship to get me home. Hmmm. Maybe I didn't understand the whole "stranded" part...
People in high school said I would turn out to be: Prematurely bald.
Hobbies: I'm a bit of a news junkie. I like to follow politics and current events. Sometimes I like naps. Is napping a hobby?
How You Got Involved with Spirit: My wife got a job offer in Tulsa, so we decided to move here from Northwest Arkansas. I had been working in Christian radio for about 10 years, so I started looking for a Christian station in Tulsa. Of course, I found Spirit 102.3 and the folks here gave me a great opportunity! I love working with so many godly people and playing such encouraging music. Lord willing, I'll be doing it for many years to come!
