Hello, hope you're well today!

We knew it was going to happen, and it did. About a month ago – Tommy did it. He started crawling, and now his favorite thing is to go where he's not allowed to go. Instead of going for his toys, he enjoys the glass case on our entertainment center, and going up the stairs. We usually do the stairs 5 times a day. Tommy is of course standing up and making me so nervous at every turn. He's also yelling MAMA!! (only when he's really hungry or wants me to hold him).

Recently we decided to start a holiday tradition. A listener suggested finger painting our wrapping paper. Little Tommy and I went to the store and got the washable paint and the packaging paper and were ready for the adventure. I undressed Tommy and got out the paint and just let him just have a field day. It was so much fun, he had it everywhere! Something I failed to realize though was the consistency of the paint, it is kind of like baby food. He thought the yellow paint was his food, and he kept trying to eat it. Needless to say we finished up and he sat in the tub for a long time after. On the bright side, we now have some really unique wrapping paper – so it was worth it. Thank you for the idea.
This is Tommy's first Christmas, and the grandparents are so excited. Every moment will be recorded, but I have a feeling he'll like the bows and boxes better than his toys. That will be ok...
We're looking forward to teaching Tommy about Jesus & the "reason for the season." I think next year Tommy and I will bake Jesus a birthday cake (another idea from a listener).
Thanks so much for keeping up with Tommy's life and progress. If you have any ideas or advice on motherhood – it is always welcome. You can e-mail me at Rebecca.bennett@coxradio.com
